  1. Mental Health at Home

“Relationships are one of the most important aspects of our lives. People who are more socially connected to family, friends, or their community are happier, physically healthier and live longer, with fewer mental health problems than people who are less well connected. It’s not just the number of friends you have, and it’s not whether or not you’re in a committed relationship, but it’s the quality of your close relationships that matters. Living in conflict or within a toxic relationship is more damaging than being alone.”

Research has shown 4 particular patterns of communication that are poisonous to our relationships:

           – Invalidation

           – Escalation

           – Withdrawal

           – Negative Interpretations

These danger signs are so powerful in damaging our relationship, in fact, researchers estimate that a couple must maintain 5 to 20 positives for each negative damage done to maintain a happy relationship. That is why we need to be mindful about them and have a proactive way to limit these danger signs out of our relationship.

  1. Mental Health at Work

“There are many risk factors for mental health that may be present in the working environment. Most risks relate to interactions between type of work, the organizational and managerial environment, the skills and competencies of employees, and the support available for employees to carry out their work. For example, a person may have the skills to complete tasks, but they may have too few resources to do what is required, or there may be unsupportive managerial or organizational practices.”

Healing Mind Haven has been actively promoting mental health as part of the integrated health care benefits at work. If your company has not started any such initiative within your workplace, schedule a session with us now to find out how we may help you to build a more healthier and productive workforce thru’ an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for your company.

We hope these snippets of knowledge helps to build mental health awareness within yourself and your social circle. Have a great life ahead & Stay Happy Always!
