Our Founders

Our Founder, Jessie heng

The idea of creating this integrated platform has been rooted more than a decade ago when Jessie first took up her Graduate Diploma in Professional Counselling from Swinburne University of Technology (Social Sciences). Her ultimate decision to launch Healing Mind Haven was finally sealed when she experienced so much more people needing mental wellness assistance to help them to cope during this pandemic period. Beyond this unprecedented situation and beyond, she foresees a growing number of people will be struggling with uncertainties and role transitions, and they will be looking for a platform that they can have direct access to meet all their mental wellness needs.

Since more than a decade ago, even in her corporate life time, Jessie has been counselling and coaching independently to teenagers, young adults, couples, staff, co-workers, and even her corporate clients – helping them to deal with relationships, stress and anxiety in our highly pressurized education and work environments.

She has come across many of them who are unable to find the right channels and resources to reach out for the right coping tools or counselling assistance. At the same time, she has also seen others being inspired and benefited through counselling when they slowly learn how to close the mental gaps, found the right fit to move forward and experienced positive outcomes in their life. And all this motivated her to officially create the mental wellness community platform – Healing Mind Haven.

Our
Co-Founder, Gideon Tan

Everyone goes through their own life journey facing seemingly endless challenges and Gideon is not excluded. Perhaps fate has got a different sense of humour, with a pivotal turn of events and under the guidance of his former TCM mentor, Gideon found himself sailing towards a new journey into the fields of mental health. At his first year of professional counselling training, it was unfortunate that a deadly disease struck one of his loved ones. And at this moment he was able to facilitate all counselling skills and knowledge learned and put them into real life practice, experiencing many positive outcomes from the practice.

Since then, Gideon furthered his training and graduated with a Master of Counselling (Advanced) from the Swinburne University of Technology. Simultaneously, graduated from the Graduate Diploma in Chinese Strategic Thinking from Aventis School of Management Singapore. He has also been holding the leadership position in another organization providing counsels and strategies coping with the ever changing and challenging business world.

With the two practices putting in counselling, he has been helping and empowering respective clients towards achieving clarity of self-autonomy enabling the capability to make well-informed choices for their own life’s stories.
