Shila Naidu
Professional Counsellor
Bridging analysis and empathy, Shila enjoys working with clients who wish to gain self-awareness and growth so they can thrive. Coming from a literary and research background, Shila facilitates clients to look for themes and patterns in their life that they can draw meaning from. Employing trauma-informed, systemic family, strength-based and emotionally-focused approaches, Shila believes that compassion for self and others is key to living a stable and full life.
Shila has a natural interest in working with clients from marginalised and minority groups and is deeply sensitive to the stressors affecting individuals who do not always fit into mainstream or traditional expectations. This inclination led her to move into non-profit work in 2017 to serve vulnerable communities in Singapore and the region. Since starting her counselling journey in 2018, Shila has worked extensively with clients from the LGBTQ community, women navigating unplanned and lost pregnancies, individuals who wish to overcome guilt and shame and those grieving loved ones including pets.
